Google has publicly stated that they’re adopting measures to reduce the amount of time their team members are required to be in their offices. What does that mean for Google My Business and your law firm?
Well, for now, Google is prioritizing reporting accurate information regarding offices being open and hours being correct. Since many updates to your law firm’s Google My Business listing are subject to manual review by a Google team member, reviewing a flood of changes across the globe all at once is probably a strain on their workforce.
Therefore, Google announced “New reviews, review replies, and all Q&A will be unavailable during this time” in their recent update regarding “Limited Google My Business functionality due to COVID-19."
What should you do?
It’s probably a good idea to pause your outreach efforts to clients. While it is likely that Google will show your reviews in the future, there is no way to know for sure. Therefore, you shouldn’t risk it.
Also, if you have outstanding issues with Google My Business like updates, verifying locations, or disputing an action taken against your location, you can expect longer delays.
We are watching reports closely and working with our clients to help them adapt to the current COVID-19 crisis.
